On August 26, 2026, Croy Seagren and Sven Bley of Made to Measure attended Airbus Supplier Day in Rockford, Illinois, joining more than 150 manufacturers, suppliers, and aerospace industry leaders to discuss the future of the aerospace supply chain.

Hosted by the Greater Rockford Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Rockford Area Aerospace Network, the event brought together companies with the capabilities and expertise needed to support the growing demands of the aerospace industry.

For Made to Measure, the event reinforced a direction we have been intentionally pursuing: supporting aerospace and defense manufacturers with mission-critical measurement solutions.

Aerospace is an industry where precision isn't optional. The parts being manufactured can be critical to the performance, safety, and reliability of an aircraft or defense system. Manufacturers need confidence that those parts meet the engineering requirements.

Airbus Supplier Day: A Growing Aerospace Supply Chain

The Rockford region is recognized as the sixth-largest aerospace cluster in the United States, making it a significant center for aerospace manufacturing and supply-chain activity.

Airbus Supplier Day highlighted opportunities across precision parts and machining, electric power and actuation, fuel systems and diagnostics, advanced manufacturing and assembly, logistics, and MRO.

Airbus leaders also emphasized the need to expand the company's supply chain as demand for commercial aircraft, helicopters, and defense products continues to grow.

For manufacturers, that growth creates significant opportunity.

It also raises the importance of having reliable quality systems and measurement capabilities in place to support increasing production demands.

Connecting With Leaders Across the Aerospace Supply Chain

One of the most valuable parts of Airbus Supplier Day was the opportunity to connect with manufacturers, suppliers, and aerospace leaders from across the industry.

The day included networking, B2B matchmaking, and insights from organizations involved in some of the world's most demanding aerospace programs, including Woodward, Collins Aerospace, United Airlines, GE Aerospace, and Ingenium Aerospace.

For Made to Measure, being in a room with companies operating at this level reinforced the importance of the work being done throughout the aerospace supply chain.

Large aerospace organizations depend on a network of manufacturers and suppliers capable of producing complex, high-quality components to demanding specifications. Behind those components are machining, engineering, inspection, measurement, and quality teams working together to make sure parts are built correctly.
