Industrial Computed Tomography (CT) Scanning drives high-powered X-Rays through the material of a part to construct digital images. The digital images, sometimes known as “slices”, are then turned into a 3D Point Cloud to utilize the image results for analysis. This non-destructive testing approach to metrology paired with our experienced Metrologists takes dimensional inspection to a whole new level! Taking into consideration that the whole part is digitized, the chances of overlooking important measurements is highly reduced. In addition, pre-production time is cut down tremendously due to the omission of sectioning and the elimination of the need for complex fixtures.

Industrial CT Scanning allows your highly-skilled team to analyze internal structures efficiently to detect flaws, voids, or cracks without damaging sample pieces. Take a water bottle prototype for example. Maybe you don’t want to have your test piece destroyed, but you fully understand that there’s a significant problem with the threaded seal. CT scanning the threads with the mating cap allows us to visually capture the fine details for your team to examine & predispose of the problem before it negatively influences your mass production.
